The Dream of Thermal City Revisited by The Observer
The Charlotte Observer editorially revisits Thermal City, noting its untouched virgin beauty and location, but recounts how progress stalled when the Seaboard and Clinchfield rail agreements faltered. It recalls a planned Alpine hotel and industrial hub, with coal trains, bridges, and a stalled development that left the city as a potential lost asset.
