Mrs Lena Mitchell 63 died after a weeks illness at M and S Hospital San Antonio Tuesday June 22. Her body went to Karnes City and was later brought here for interment at 4 00 p m Floresville Cemetery. Services were led by Rev Stewart Baptist minister of Karnes City and two other ministers from the city.

The Floresville Rural Telephone Company board approved purchasing an automatic exchange system for Poth to replace the magneto setup. Jesse J Franklin, age 63 years, 3 months, and 7 days, longtime Floresville and Wilson County resident, died at Blake Hospital Tuesday night June 21, 1938 after a major operation. Service at Murray Funeral Home 8:15 p.m. conducted by Rev. W. E. McGraw and Rev. A. M Foster. burial planned Marfa. He was born March 14, 1876, son of Wiley R. and Mary Jane Franklin. He leaves a widow and seven children. memories praised his frank gentleness and strong community ties.
