Stanley Smith and Chief Greigo design a total security system for the park. Electronic sensors are placed in the pool with direct wiring to the police dispatch office, aiming to enhance public safety and protect the entire complex. City staff receive commendation for the project.

Vernor Bippert received appreciation for his six-year board service at Sacred Heart School Floresville during a pavilion dinner. Jerome Filieller Jr and Zoe Justiss were among 28 Texas 4-H leaders honored at the 1983 State 4-H Roundup at Texas A&M University on June 8. Filieller, a Floresville farmer, has trained numerous 4-H beef, swine and poultry members for 19 years and organized the Floresville 4-H Club in 1964.
First Lutheran Church Floresville invites children to a Vacation Bible School from Monday to Friday in June, 9:00 to 11:45 a.m., with the theme Take It To The Lord In Prayer. Activities include Bible study games crafts and singing sessions.
Alton Moczygemba has been selected as the Outstanding Absentee Conservation Farmer Rancher of 1982 in Wilson County for his superior conservation on his farm. He and his wife are associated with a business located in San Antonio.
Basic language programming will be taught in four 12 hour short courses at Floresville Middle Ago by Mrs Margaret Ailskin. Classes run Monday through Thursday June 2023 from 830 to 1130 am. Open to 16 or older by calling 393-2716. Fee due at first class includes all course materials and use of TRS 0 microcomputers. Enrollment limited to 15 per class. Air conditioned rooms.
