Sacred Heart Church in Floresville marks its 75th anniversary with a Diamond Jubilee observance on Sunday June 9 1957. Farmers Home Loan Helped Wilson Karnes Farmers Ten Months
Loan data from Farmers Home Administration shows more than 554,390 lent to Wilson and Karnes County farmers in the ten months ending April 30 1957. Total Texas farm loans under emergency and real estate programs reached 54,733,060 with 18,500 farmers aided. Record Class Of 74 Graduates Get Diplomas At Floresville
Last Friday evening a crowd overflowed the Floresville High School gym as 74 seniors, the record class, received their diplomas. Lorene Risley earned the Balfour Key Award and a Readers Digest subscription. Barbara Sangerhausen received the DAR leadership and citizenship honors. 17 graduates won scholastic medals. Dr. Brad Oxford, Class of 1935, delivered a brief, motivational address urging continued education and perseverance. Diplomas were presented by Supt. Wootton, Principal Masur, and Board President W. T. Clay.
