Summer Reading Program Kicks Off in Floresville
Floresville kicks off a summer reading program with the Goldilocks theme. Registration on June 6 is encouraged though open throughout the period. Ten books must be read or listened to by mid July. Weekly programs run Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. with safety talks by Officer Jeff Johnson and a Floresville Fire Department speaker, plus a fire truck outside. Crop Tour Credit Hours Offered in Wilson County
Wilson County Extension Service invites producers and others to a Crop Tour on Wednesday, June 15, starting at 4:00 p.m. at Loma Vista Farms near DeWees. Attendees view seventeen grain sorghum varieties and an eighteen-variety corn test plot with Extension specialists and seed reps on hand. Three hours of credit are available for applicators, with one hour in IPM, and a $2 meal charge. RSVP by June 13 at the County Extension Office.

Union Valley Holding Homecoming 57th Annual Event
The Union Valley Cemetery and Homecoming Association will hold the 57th Annual Homecoming on Sunday, June 12, 1994, at the Union Valley Tabernacle six miles west of Nixon on FM 1681. Bro. DPS Accident Report Involving Lares And Whittle
Edward G. Lares 25 of San Antonio drove a 1994 Mercury south on US 181 when Hank Whittle 45 in a 1987 Ford Ranger attempted a left lane change crossing into Lares path. The collision occurred Friday May 20 1994 as both vehicles moved southbound.
