The cotton option contracts for Wilson county have been received and will be distributed on New Year’s Day. Producers must sign receipts at the county agent’s office to obtain the option and papers. Two exercise methods exist. one yields a $20.00 per bale check plus a Participation Trust Certificate, the other lets you choose the sale date. Pool participation ends January 15, 1934. Pledging or selling ends your interest. Also details on the 1934-35 cotton acreage plan and contracts, with pink cards to be filled with committeemen. E. D. Beck, County Agent.

Robert Stobb, 16, son of Louis and Mrs. Stobb of Black Hill, was bitten on the leg by a skunk during a hunting trip Thursday night December 7. His dogs cornered the animal. he tripped and fell onto it. A local physician administered a 14 day rabies treatment and he is believed to be out of danger.
SUTHERLAND SPRINGS Texas Dec 22 Roger Field trapped a large red fox during coyote trapping in the Shelby pasture the animal described by witnesses as perhaps the largest seen in the area.
Stockdale Ramblers versus Floresville All-Stars clash at the old ball park on January 1 at 2 30 PM to decide Wilson county football honors. Local stars feature former Stockdale and Floresville captains with manager Peggy Martin and coach Irwin directing. Floresville lists Parks McNiel Houck Donaho Ferguson and McIntire among probable starters.

Mrs Mollie Tullos age 68 years 4 months 18 days died at her daughter’s Floresville home on Tuesday December 26 1933 at 2 a m after a year of ill health Funeral services were held at the Tows residence with Rev J T Howard of the Floresville Baptist Church presiding The service featured a large floral display and a notable choir burial followed at the family plot beside her husband who died about thirty years ago Surviving are three daughters Mrs C A Tom Miss Stella Tullos Floresville Mrs Thos H Burger San Antonio and Dr H S Tullos West Texas one son and a brother and two sisters also remain from the McKenzie family The Chronicle Journal offers condolences to the family and friends
Robstown residents Earl Fahrenthold and two other men died in a head on collision on the shell road near Calallen. Ten people were seriously injured including Earl Harold and Ray Fahrenthold and C W Gilcrease. The Fahrenthold family, linked to Poth, has several members affected.
The Floresville Chamber of Commerce hosts the fourth municipal Christmas tree on the courthouse square with Santa Claus on the First City National Bank building ledge. The event featured a Floresville Band concert, 1300 gift bags for children, and wide attendance from town and rural areas. The American Legion and Boy Scouts aided in crowd control and bag distribution.
RANGE Texas Dec 27 Roasting ears for Christmas were a new addition to the Yuletide table of Paul Natho of this farming community who planted corn this fall and, aided by mild weather and no killing frosts, is being rewarded for his diligence and industry.
Funeral services were held for Gail Ruhmann twelve, son of Mr and Mrs Ruhman of Kenedy Texas. He died Tuesday from injuries after being thrown from a horse and becoming entangled in a rope. He suffered chest injuries and multiple broken bones. He is survived by his parents a sister Valda and grandmother Mrs P V Butler.
Gonzales Texas December 25 The Production Credit Corporation formed this week will have Gonzales as headquarters with a district including Gonzales DeWitt Karnes Wilson Lavaca counties One director per county and four incorporators named for each district including Ross Boothe Wesley Howard and others A permanent secretary treasurer will be elected after charter approval The meeting was attended by numerous Wilson county residents and officers.
Nine counties will share the cotton option funds with Nacogdoches the largest recipient for 24,603 bales at $20 per bale. Texas farmers hold 752,117 bale options and Fed funds of $15,042,340 will be distributed to enroll in the acreage reduction program next year. Texas Agriculture Commissioner J. E. McDonald seeks immediate cash via bank deposits of certificates.
