Drastic Railroad Fare Reductions Announced for December 1
Southern Pacific Lines announces new travel fares effective today December 1. J T Monroe Passenger Traffic Manager states one way fares drop to two or three cents per mile with two cents valid in chair cars and coaches and higher rate valid for all equipment. Round trip charges set at two or two and a half cents per mile with ten day return when using two cent rate.

T L McNeil Burial in Floresville Wednesday Service
The body of T. L. McNeil 74 retired lumber merchant will be taken to Floresville for interment after funeral services at 11:30 Wednesday morning at the Wil bert Hanavan chapel led by Rev A H Clark. McNeil died at his daughter Mrs Gifford I Dicksons home on the Callaghan Road Monday evening surviving include a son Louis McNeil of Los Angeles two brothers George and Frank McNeil of Bandera and two sisters Mrs Minerva Clayton of Terrell and Mrs Barbara Maddox of Henderson. The remains arrived here Wednesday morning and interment was in Floresville cemetery beside his wife who died in 1909. Friends from a distance attended the burial.

COLLEGE STATION Texas Nov 28 new cotton plan to be offered growers who sign government contracts for 1934 35 provides for total payments of 120000000 of which 90 millions are to be paid as land rentals and 30 millions in parity payments according to C A Cobb chief of the Cotton Section of the Agricultural Adjustment Administration He cautions the plan is tentative and may be modified later Land rentals are set at 3 cents per pound on retired cotton acres with varying per acre amounts based on historical yields Parity payments cover 40 percent of average five year production at one cent per pound and total about 80 million dollars to be distributed among contract signers Details to follow on page 8.

Floresville Fighting Tigers clinched the District 24-B championship by defeating Sidney Lanier Voks 7 0 on Thanksgiving Day. Captain B W Masters scored the lone touchdown on a fourth quarter drop kick after a 20 yard pass from Ben Lopez. Floresville outblocked and outplayed the Voks in the second half as Nemo Herrera's defense stalled Lanier repeatedly. Victoria sheriff on trial for 1902 killing in Garcitas
Sheriff Robert S. Weisiger of Victoria County is being tried before District Judge S. B. Carr in Victoria for a killing from January 14, 1902. The case arose after a grand jury indictment sought by Weisiger to clear him of acts done in the line of duty when he was deputy sheriff. The victim was a Negro named Spot North who allegedly resisted arrest.
