Evermann Locates Rare Golden Trout in Sierra Streams
Professor Barton W. Evermann of the United States Fish Commission returns from California after locating a rare golden trout high in the Sierra Nevada near Mt Whitney. The expedition used pack horses to reach Volcano Creek, where lava-formed cascades blocked upstream movement and preserved the species. Specimens will be brought east next year for introduction into eastern waters.
