Saloon opens new era as Henry Pritchard starts license
Henry Pritchard opened his saloon yesterday with a regular retail license. George H. Squier obtained a divorce from Emma L. Squier in Tuesday morning proceedings. The couple resided south of Bringhurst and the charge was at andement. Squier, formerly a barber at Frankfort, is now a farmer. Emma L. Squier returned to her mother's home near Cutler. E. T. Kive purchased the late Dr. F. G. Armstrong farm in Jackson township, paying 110 per acre for 135 acres, value about 148,450. Miss Fannie Thomas of Flora is seriously ill in Logansport. Rossville business men plan a brick mill and elevator at the current site with a 20,000 capital. Bertha Antler of Clay township was granted a divorce from Mansfield Antler with 150 attorney fee and 35 court costs. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kirk of Carrollton township are in Florida until spring. The last will of Ellen Myers was probated with James W. Myers named executor. Deacon Davis, Flora native now in Joliet, is now a father of a 12-pound boy. L. M. Loy was appointed administrator of the Alma Morrison estate. Ethel Robbins’ Delphi classmates visited her four miles east of Delphi, chaperoned by Mrs. Randolph and Miss Coble. J. B. Metzger of Santa Clara visited A. E. Neher. Two Angola papers advertised a lottery scheme deemed nonmailable by the post office. Postmaster Walter K. Landis of Porto Rico was reappointed by the President. A revival at the Christian church persists with good turnout and continuing meetings.
