Flora to get electric light system and franchise

Flora's town board plans to grant a 20 year electric lighting franchise to DEB Miller at the next regular meeting. Construction to start within four months and complete within a year, with 19 street lights costing about 1200 dollars yearly. The system will burn until midnight with no tax increase or bonds.

Divorces and Church Endorsements Shape Indiana Plan

Indiana church leaders in Indianapolis endorsed a six point divorce bill to be shown to jurists and then introduced to the legislature. Provisions include longer wait after filing, three years residency, exclusion of sworn testimony, harsher penalties for crime connected to divorces, and limited divorces with punishment for bigamy. Also discussed were denying licenses to the feeble minded, drunkards, and severely ill persons. Marriage of Mixa Stella Wagoner and Reuben Flora

Saturday evening at the Wagoner home near Flora the marriage of Mixa Stella Wagoner and Reuben Flora was performed by Rev. Steen of Wheeling Presbyterian church. The ceremony was followed by a large supper and celebrations as registry and music by Samuel Mitchell. The couple will settle on the George Wagoner farm and receive many celebratory wishes from the Enterprise Sentinel and local friends. Town officials warn of snow removed walks and liability for injuries on uncleared paths. Dan K. Garrison is appointed courthouse janitor in Delphi starting Jan 1, with duties including yard work and preserving the building.

County Auditor Sequesters Property in Deel and Goslee Cases

The county Auditor reports examination of estate claims for Charles Deel valued at $2000 and Marion Goslee valued at $31,450. Goslee’s claim was rejected because not a county resident. Deel’s claim was also rejected.

Browne Wins in First Case for County Recorder

The commissioners' court ruled Browne elected by one vote over Levi Summe r in the county recorder race. Wednesday evening at Mrs. E J Todds class girls hosted Mr Todds boys and others at a reception. Rev Houze spoke and suggested a boys club for social pastimes. The event ended with a taffy pulling and the party dispersed about an eleven oclock.
