Peculiar Kidnapping Case Heard at Deer Creek
Thomas Scott of Deer Creek filed a preliminary kidnapping case against Gammon of Howard County. The alleged victim, blind veteran Thomas Harmon, had moved to Deer Creek with the Scott family for his pension. Allegations state Harmon’s daughter married Gammon, who then allegedly abducted the old man to access the pension. The justice court dismissed the suit.

Death of Mrs Neher at Son's Home in City
Susannah Neher aged 57 died at her son Albert Neher's home in the city on Tuesday morning after a period of intense suffering. She was highly respected and bore her burden uncomplainingly. She leaves three children and the community offers sympathy. The funeral was held Wednesday with interment at Pleasant View Cemetery west of Rossville.
