PF J Bird bought the William Parslow farm four miles northwest of Filer and produced 74 bushels per acre from a 40 acre wheat field averaging about 46 bushels with a total 1 662 bushels This is his second year in irrigation which he credits for the yield along with corn beets potatoes and a cigar crop on ten acres promising good returns

Twelve hardware store fire destroys historic Yakima corner
A major blaze leveled the Filer Hardware company building at the corner of Yakima Avenue and Main Street. The firm, oldest in the area, operated hardware, machinery, plumbing and electrical departments with branches in Bury, Twin Falls, Ford and Bubl. Reynolds said operations would reopen in the Reynolds Bros garage building east of the former site, fully insured.

The couple left for a honeymoon in Nebraska after the ceremony. Macaw has lived in Filer seven years and served in local journalism and Legion posts. Roberson served in World War I and will start their life together after their return.
