Fire Destroys Sixty Acres Of Fruit Trees In Canyon Ranch

A fire swept sixty acres of Crystal Springs orchard in Snake River canyon north of town, causing an estimated loss of 20 000 dollars, aided by early support from local responders. Most trees survived at their bases but cambium tissue was damaged, turning brown. The burn area produced apples and peaches worth about 5 000 dollars in the season.

Filer Meat Co. Lease Market to Buhl Man

Jacob Schafer of Buhl takes over the Filer Meat shop and fixtures and renames the firm U. S. Meat Company. Klaak and Pieter sell the business.
