Mrs Cecil Hurst Blackburn died after taking bichloride of mercury believed to be calomel while her husband Melvin Blackburn 19 is detained to face possible second degree murder charges. Postmortem confirmed poisoning as cause.

Mennonite Body to Hold Annual Sessions Here
The Pacific Coast church conference and Saundry school gathering of the Mennonite church will convene at East Mennonite church starting Monday next week. About fifty delegates from the district are expected to attend the five day sessions with daily services at 9 30 am 1 pm and 7 pm. The public is invited to attend after Monday per Rev. Heads of the two local school systems released the list of instructors for the coming term. At the high school eight on the faculty remain with Supt. George K. Denman and Miss Jessie Thornber continuing. New names include Ernest Byrne of Buhl teaching commercial subjects and leading the orchestra, James Tomlin of Weiser in mathematics, Mary Pringle of Twin Falls in science and history, Georgia Andrews of Caldwell in rogues clubs and glee club support, and George N. Tucker of Notus in agriculture. The grade schools cut staff from 12 to 10, retaining Supt. Hh. L. Peck and several existing teachers with new music instructor Marque Akin set to join Blackfoot.

Sale of 100 city and farm properties at courthouse
One hundred parcels deeded to the county in 1919 for delinquent taxes will go on sale at the east courthouse door on June 22. Of these, 17 are farm properties and 30 are in Town Palace area with several blocks listed in Amsterdam and nearby towns. Some parcels already redeemed after taxes were paid under new tax laws, with redemption possible before sale.
