Filer and Gooding Students Compete In Stock Judging
Filer Rural High School and Gooding High School youths joined a stock judging contest at Thousand Springs on Monday. Thirteen freshmen and an equal number of Ag boys from each school judged two classes of Guernsey cattle and two hog classes, giving reasons for one class each. Virgil Dexter of Filer led with 615 points, Carl Anderson of Gooding second with 440, Earl Hall of Filer third with 410, and Dale Harmon and Everett Beachell of Filer tied for fourth. Filer posted a 419 team average vs Gooding’s 35? and the full school averaged 350. George N Tucker and Ravith-Hagher-Weetrector served as judges.
