Mystery surrounds the disappearance of cash from the Farmers Grain and Milling office after Saturday to Sunday. Manager K Annett reports $47 in cash and checks were locked in the safe drawer. a window was found open but doors and windows were re locked and the key remained in a concealed spot. No trace of the money or thief has been found.

D F Detweiler and son Paul shipped 3400 head of lambs from the station on Tuesday in 12 car loads. Seven cars went to Omaha with John Detweiler. five cars to Los Angeles sold to Wilson & Company. Detweiler Tarieb NE of here completed shearing. 15 to 20 men have worked weeks feeding, shearing and lambing. He holds 80,000 pounds of wool to ship. current wool price around 40 cents per pound, with expected higher return for his extra fine wool. Estimated shipment value $36,000 to $40,000.

Salmon River Canal Directors Fix Yearly Rates in Meeting
At the regular monthly Salmon River Canal directors meeting in Hollister the 80 cent per irrigable acre maintenance assessment for the year was set due April 1. The operation and maintenance budget includes defending water rights against encroachments and purchasing 96 galvanized metal gate turn-outs for the project. The board authorized moving the warehouse from the townsite southwest corner near the office. Wages for the secretary treasurer treasurer new riders and other employees remain unchanged.

Farm Credit Bill Raises Federal Loan Limit to 35000
W. McDowell, county farm loan representative, announced that Congress adopted a farm credit bill increasing the federal loan limit from the former amount to 35000. The new limit took effect Saturday.

Supt RL Peck was re employed as head of the local grade school system at a board meeting Monday evening. He has led Independent district No 4 for two years with noted success and was re elected for another term. Six instructors were elected to positions, including Mrs Weatherly Miss Graybill and Miss Thompson. Miss Ines Stevens named primary building principal. New instructors Graves and Hart joined from Poplar Hill and Marag districts respectively. Janitor Henry Dryden re elected. Rural high school faculty positions yet to be filled.
