A post office note from 1920 announces a request to release seized mail matter to the French military, detailing required data including sender and addressee addresses, mailing date, city, registry or insured numbers, and where to send released mail. The notice urges subscription for the record with a price likely to rise.
Sherman a Republican and former county commissioner filed first for county sheriff in August primaries. Chester G A Divelbuss a Democrat filed for probate judge. Both are longtime Buhl residents and well known. The county political scene in the area is heating up as filings begin.
Sweet cherries are ripe at the Gour ley ranch and for sale at orchard a mile near from foot of Clarke's grade in Snake River canyon. Hing cherries will be ripe in a few days.
A grain grading school will be held Friday July 3 with B F Sheehan of the University of Idaho leading demonstrations. Held in cooperation with county farm bureaus, sessions will tour Welser Jerome Kimberly Payette and Filer with more in Snake River valley to be announced.
A new band organized on the Clover tract held its first practice at the Clover school house under director Mr. Dannefeldt. Twenty four men attended. regular sessions will be held at the school house to prepare for a concert later this year. GR. Thamert, with seventeen years of cornet experience, joins the group and helps lead the effort. Enthusiasm runs high for the venture.
Mrs. W. F. Alworth of Filer is a leader in farm bureau work. She has conducted five women’s demonstrations in Curry and earlier in Buhl and Salmon, aiding the home demonstration agent. Training sessions will be offered to keep interest alive and make projects practical for communities. A dry cleaning demonstration is noted, and the Farm Bureau urges more leaders to sustain activity.
