April Frost Hurts Early Fruit Crops in Idaho
A weekly U.S. Weather Bureau crops summary reports April frosts reduced fruit yields in southwestern Idaho while other regions show variable progress. Beets, potatoes, and spring grains struggle without irrigation, though head lettuce and haying advance in areas with moisture. Some districts report heavy drought, irrigation use rising, and overall beets, apples, prunes, and cherries forecast short crops in certain valleys.
