Visit to Farm Project Class Inspires Local Students

A farm project excursion by 30 Filer Rural high school students, fathers, and friends toured the community to see Swith-Hughes vocational course work under Earl Woolridge. The day featured a picnic hosted by Mr and Mrs L K Cole and lemonade at local drug stores, with each boy presenting a summary of his project. The program underscored practical summer farming as part of school agriculture, with support from breeders A J O'Reilly and local families. There are hogs, pure bred poultry, and crop plans across 102 cultivated acres managed by 15 boys, all keeping detailed records to gauge profits and losses.

Shorthorn Excursion Picnic at Fairgrounds

More than 100 persons including Shorthorn breeders toured county farm sites last Wednesday. They inspected 150 to 200 registered animals, then held a judging contest and instruction school at the C A McMastr farm near Hollister. The group traveled in 16 cars from the courthouse at 9 oclock, stopping in Kimberly, Twin Falls, Filer, Barger, and Hollister districts.

Autos Collide at Entrance to Town

A late Sunday afternoon crash at the south east corner of Filer intersection with the state highway injured at least three people. Mr and Mrs O L Dadiey and A Evans of Sawtelle Cal were returning from a funeral when their car collided with Anna St ansom s auto. The Evans man and Mr Dadiey were hurt, while Mrs Stevenson and her family escaped injury. Nellie Strait and the Stevenson party also involved.
