The village schedules a $10,000 bond election for July 12 to fund fire protection and water mains on Main Street. Registration ends Saturday night with the village clerk open tomorrow and Saturday for voters to sign up. The bond plan includes $6,500 for mains and $2,600 for a fire engine, amid limited registration earlier.
Beauchamp as trustee says salmon settlers outside the district will receive further claims payments every May. About 694 claims arrived, 31 adjusted. Roughly half the claims paid in cash, half by notes secured on future payments. 1100 acres abandoned, many lands in various states of cultivation. Mortgages and water-right arrangements with Beauchamp visible. Total payments expected near 400000 dollars.

Filer baseball team lost 9 to 5 to a rival organization of Idaho Department Store employees at Twin Park on July 4 as part of the town Fourth of July program. The game lasted five innings to allow time for other festivities. Dingle pitched well with several strikeouts while Aman and Duvall contributed for Filer.
Mans H Coffin of Salt Lake City vice president of Mutual Coal Company met with HN Kelp local agent to discuss progress and plans. A meeting will be held at Reybrace root garden this evening with Coffin present to explain company work. Start is eight o'clock. about 160 local shareholders expected.
Mr and Mrs Black or Filer presented before the prize aiding committee at Twin Palit on July Fourth claiming the largest family at the carnival. They won the $10 cash prize without keen competition, listing a family including 17 members.
Raleigh Drake, son of Mr and Mrs BK Drake, a Filer high school graduate and Boston Conservatory cello student, joins a touring chautauqua company. He will perform with a little symphony orchestra across Pennsylvania New York parts of Canada and New England with two solos per day through Sept 22. He travels by boat to New York then Philadelphia before joining the circuit.
Intense interest surrounded the Dempsey Carpentier world title fight with reports arriving at The Record office at 12 20 PM. Bulletins posted told of Carpentier being defeated in the fourth round after a left to the jaw, drawing calls from fans seeking results and betting on the bout.
A large crowd attended an American Legion dance Friday at Reybroco root garden. The Blue Bird orchestra of Twin Palle arranged with the post to provide music for regular Friday dances. Initial appearance drew spontaneous approval as Twin Pails and Hubli dancers led the merriment. Legion members anticipate a much larger attendance tomorrow night.
Big attendance urged for Friday meeting in Parish hall at 9 a.m. to discuss rail rates from Twin Falls to river points. Investigators Powers Wea ver and Munson gathered documentary evidence with D B Sullivan and Owen Buchanan, while Leonard Way of the state utilities commission will conduct the hearing.
Filer residents marked Independence Day with family trips to Twin Path Kimberly and local sites along the Snake River amid bunting and closed shops. Crowds gathered at Pines and Hobo areas, Odd Fellows led Kimberley events, and countywide festivities drew many from nearby towns despite warm weather and modest spending at booths and pavilions.
Judson Thi ttalph Love and James Schildman left Munday for a Lewin where they will spend thirty days as members of the inom Training fa. The boys are Rural high school students and will receive military training with boys fed men from the northwest. Fifty boys from the Bol o high school are in attendance.
At the Gem theatre tonight the local Wexion post shows five reels of World War scenes from the battle fronts. The exhibit is from the U.S. Government Signet Corps and a nominal admission will be charged to defray expenses for the post delegate to the state convention at Kellogg on August 4 5 and 6.
A dairy meeting held last week at Rural High School organized the Moneer Cow Testing Association into the Pioneer Testing Association. About twenty five members elected a new board including IL B. Otte Jersey breed and A H Jagels Bub Holstein. W C Pletcher announced will arrive July to assist and there is a waiting list for membership. The group emphasizes official testing of milk from each cow under university supervision to maintain records and cull unproductive animals.
Hainline Filer Dairy introduces a new ice cream product named Mew Filer. The factory is set to supply both retail and wholesale markets. Early reception among local dealers is positive with strong consumer demand noted.
The Supreme Court overruled the demurrer in the case of Thomas Sanderson versus Salmon River Water Company. It may affect the future of the tract as the mandamus to compel water delivery proceeds, with the defendant asserting the ruling is less significant than the plaintiff’s position.
The state board of examiners approved expenses for returning fugitives from justice, including Held is Honotele Mew Southard, indicted in Twin Falls for murder, arrested in Honolulu May 12 1921, and transported back with deputy W J Ormaby and wife. The ruling depletes the $2000 biennium appropriation, leaving only about $120 in the fund. Counties will bear costs after funds run dry. bills to follow.
Dr M J Goode, local dentist, was reelected secretary of the Idaho State Dental Association at its third annual meeting held last week in Boise after the second annual postgraduate course. Elected officers include President B H Hudson, Vice President F O W Critchfield, Treasurer W Ludden, with the course drawing many attendees from this state and others.
