A fatal shooting occurred Saturday night at a St Regis rooming house in Twin Falls after a poker game setup. Injuries included severe head trauma to B. McCollum and a gunshot wound to Wenger, with Slagel in custody and facing preliminary examination.

Trial in Justice Court Over Payment Dispute

In a two day Justice Court trial the suit of a claimant against Owen Hamp and Biddy Hamp for wages was heard. The plaintiff claimed eight and a half days work at 12 50 a week, sought 6.66 more, and was awarded 15.15 plus 25 in costs and attorneys fees totaling 61.16. FP Philby presided with W D Gillis presenting for the plaintiff and Taylor Cummins of Twin Palms for the defense. The plaintiff testified she worked at the Hamp residence and was offered 8 50 for the work and refused it, leading to the suit. The Hamns testified to a short employment and stipend per day.

W F P Alworth was re elected president of Twin Falls County Mutual Fire Insurance at the annual meeting in Buhl last Wednesday. The auditor reported $2.1 million in insurance in force, up from last year by $958,940, with members paying only $1 per year per thousand in premiums.

Swine Brings Fancy Prices at Idaho Sale

A Wilt etred by Ace of Kinen, herd sire of L. 8 Otte and Dr Mr Armee, sold for 460 dollars at Twin Palle Friday under the Idaho Durr Creedery, with Mr Otte president. Otto sold a gift for 254 dollars. The top male went to H. J. Helter of Caxtinford for 560 dollars. Some animals went to farm bureau junior members.
