The first week session of the 26th district Methodist convention drew strong turnout at the local church with Dr Hollingshead of New York Dr Raynor Smith of India and Bishop Charles Wesley Burns delivering speeches on church work organization and outreach The event included delegates from nearby towns and a dinner for 72 attendees at a general assembly and a Gooding satellite clinice follow up events continued with trips by Rev C E Deal and Rev J B Baker to related meetings.

Canal Company Cuts Wages Across The Board In Twin Falls

The Twin Falls Canal company board adopted a resolution to set a $2 annual maintenance assessment with $1 due March 1 and $1 due September 1. Salaries across all levels are cut, including directors from 10 to 3 dollars per workday, the general manager from 5000 to 8600 yearly, and other senior staff reductions to $225 and 175 respectively. New monthly and hourly wages for watermasters ditch riders foremen laborers teams and other crew also reduced to specified lower rates.

Judgment Asked From Local Beet Sugar Company

The Idaho Co-Operative Beet Sugar Company sues in Twin Falls District Court seeking a judgment of 27295.75 and a receiver for the defendant Great Western Mortgage and Loan Company Idaho Falls filed the suit. The complaint says the amount is for sales of 260200 shares of stock and that the defendant’s stock selling permit was revoked. The suit alleges mismanagement and pending lawsuits totaling over 76000, claiming funds misused and officers overpaid while the company holds debts and assets around 400000. The action also accuses defendant officers of maligning and discrediting the company’s fiscal agents before salesmen and buyers.
