A Decatur Orchard farm packing and ring shed burned Tuesday evening, with losses estimated at 5000 dollars partly insured. The one story cedar frame building 30 by 40 feet housed apples and packing gear. Fire likely started from stoves used to prevent freezing. freezing temperatures and deep snow hampered fire response. Manager Walkling was ill and an employee said oil was placed in stoves before the fire. The Decatur Orchard company operates the 200 acre farm, formerly Weaver ranch, in Decatur Illinois.
