Jersey cows distributed at Twin Falls fairgrounds

A crowd at Twin Falls County Fairgrounds witnessed the distribution of 28 Jersey cows arriving from Corvallis Oregon. Club leader A O O'Reilly supervised the event aided by local youths and fathers. cattle valued between 250 and 400 dollars per head.

Valuable Hog Is Lost by L. S. Otto

A Duroc Jersey sow named May Leno b, valued around two thousand to one thousand dollars, died last week while part of a planned litter from a prized Daroe Jersey herd. The pig’s loss concerns L. Otto whose herd drew national attention for its promising hog.

Funeral Services for Civil War Veteran John H Ball

Funeral services for John H Ball were held at Meth Wilat Episcopal church at 2 pm Friday. The civil war veteran died at his family home at midnight Wednesday from heart failure aged 78 years and 4 months. Survivors include his wife Hitza Ball, son Oscar, daughters Mrs D Macaw and Mrs J W Price, and son Eimer employed at Roseworth ranch south of Bubl. Born November 26 1848 in Indiana, he served two years eight months in the Fifteenth Kansas Cavalry Company H. Interment followed at O W cemetery.

Commercial Club Hosts Large Beets Factory Meeting

Nearly one hundred farmers and business men attended a long session of the Filer Commercial club. Idaho Cooperative Beet Sugar representatives discussed a new factory to be built here and its fall operation plans. The gathering approved plans for circulars, a county fair derby, and a county sale, with strong emphasis on community cooperation and growth.

Mrs Shearer Stars In Easter Cantata At Local Church

Mrs Shearer shines in a Baxter cantata presented by the Methodist choir before a large Easter crowd. About 1300 attended with hundreds turned away. Work Advances On New Manyon Block

Construction on the Manyon block progresses despite last week’s bad weather. Brick walls are half finished and the structure rises with new bunldnegh establishments including the Record office. Contractor Kitwarde says drilling at the rear continues and material must arrive to meet a May occupancy date.
