Rector Gregory Bechtold of St Meinrad Seminary Dies
The Very Rev Gregory Bechtold O S B long serving Rector of St Meinrad Seminary died after a brief illness. He was born 1865 in Ebringen Germany and entered the Benedictine Order in 1884. As Rector since 1902 he guided many priests and taught theology, leaving a lasting spiritual and academic legacy. His funeral was set for ten oclock the morning of the report.

Quartermasters Reserve Corps Seeks Enlistments
The Quartermaster Enlisted Reserve Corps requires about 3000 men from ages 18 to 45 to serve as clerks, blacksmiths, farriers, horseshoers, storekeepers, tentmakers, wheelwrights, wagonmasters, assistant wagonmasters, skilled laborers, watchmen, and packers. Teamsters are especially wanted. Promotions in noncommissioned officers are rapid for qualified tradesmen.
