Guests from Ferdinand Indiana and local Benedictines praise the four voiced Mass and floral decorations. The Ferdinand brass band is noted as a highlight and Emilian plans to join Ferdinand College duties upon return. Gratias omnibus et singulis.
Emma Klueh oldest daughter of Mr and Mrs John Klueh and Gerhard Bolte son of Mr and Mrs Ben Bolte wed Tuesday morning at St Ferdinand Church. Bride wore white embroidery net dress and carried roses. Rosa Kloeh bridesmaid Joe Bolte best man. Reception at parents home followed by a dance at Barths hall with All Star Orchestra. The couple are prominent locals with many friends.
In Louisville Kentucky on November 1 1908 a party at Mrs Fred Green's home celebrated Angela Schmitts birthday. Guests included numerous Schmitt and Meyer family members and friends. Halloween pranks followed with many tricks and a buggy and cart incident drawing special attention.
The county elected the full Democratic slate except for county surveyor. John L. Brett was chosen judge, Harry Carpenter prosecuting attorney, and W. E. Cox and Dr. Cobl re elected congressman and representative by large majorities. The county reported the largest vote ever polled, with Bryan carrying 3341 to Tafts 1394 and Marshall 3838 to Watson 1394. A school report through Oct 30, 1908 lists named students with perfect attendance noted for two grades. enrollment shows exactly 50 percent of total.

Rev Basil Huesler returned from Europe to a welcoming procession led by the Star band and many congregants at the depot. He spoke briefly at the rectory thanking the crowd for the warm reception as bells rang and music played. A death notice follows for Lizzie Schmitt and a brief obituary fragment for Malinda Weaver.
In Greens Creek Valley several residents visit relatives including John Weyer leaving for Lowell Indiana and Philip Durchholz hosting the Durchholz family. The Bolte Klueh wedding dance at Barth hall drew attendees like Emma Durchholz and Wesser family members.
John Welp from Louisville visited friends in Schnellville this week. Geo Haas and Edward Metzger with sister also traveled from Louisville. Nic Nolpert went to French Lick for a business trip. The Democratic rally drew a large crowd last Friday. Emmet Schnell, working on the Huntingburg Ferdinand grade, returned home Saturday. Henry Holzbog of Birdseye and Henry Schnell of Birdseye were in town on business.
Sunday afternoon services marked the burial at St Josephs cemetery for a Jasper area family bereaved by recent loss. The note from Jasper Courier extends sympathy to the parents.
