Michael Hochgesang aged 41 years and 22 days died at St Anthony after a yearlong tuberculosis illness. He left a wife, 10 children with two predeceased, 7 daughters and 3 sons, 6 brothers, 3 sisters and his aged parents. He belonged to St Ebherhard Aid Society of Ferdinand, St Anthony Aid Society and Jasper council Knights of Columbus. Interment was Tuesday morning in St Anthony.

Ben Knust Injured in Buggy Accident Near Remke Home
Ben Knust was thrown from his buggy when his horse spooked by a passing automobile on the hill cross road near August Remke’s home. He was taken to his brother Ed Knust’s in town, treated by a physician, and reported badly bruised but not internally injured. he is improving and progressing well.

A calcium arsenate and gypsum mix provides control, with weekly dustings starting as leaves appear, and 3 to 4 applications. Arsenate of lead is less effective. Cabbage worms are sprayed with arsenate of lead to prevent leaf damage, using six level teaspoons per gallon of water and soap. Roy S.
