Two Weddings Last Tuesday at St Ferdinand Church

Miss Laura Schlachter and John Schinetz were married at St Ferdinand church Tuesday at seven. The bridesmaids were Maggie Schlachter and Maggie Gude while Willie Schlachter and George Gude served as groomsmen. After breakfast at Val Fleig’s home the couple joined the brides’ parents for a reception. An evening dance at Fleig’s hall featured the Banner Orchestra. The groom, oldest son of Mr and Mrs Paul Schmetzki, and the bride, daughter of Mr and Mrs George Schlachter, plan to live on the groom’s farm.

Miller Oeding Tie The Knot At St Ferdinand Church

Miss Anna Miller and Paul Oeding were married at St. Ferdinand church Tuesday morning. Attendants were Clara Diers Rosa Miller Alois Oeding and Henry Theis. After the ceremony the wedding party breakfasted at Barbara Hackmanns then spent the day with relatives near St. Henry. The couple will live on a farm near St. Henry.

Ex-Senator W. A. Traylor Dies at 71 in Jasper

Ex-senator William A. Traylor died at Jasper last Sunday morning at three. He was 71 and had practiced law for four decades. He served in the Indiana Senate for Dubois, Orange and Lawrence counties 1879 to 1881 and again in 1889 for Dubois and Perry counties. He later became cashier of the Dubois County State Bank. He was the father of ex-senator Bomar Traylor of Jasper. Burial was held Tuesday at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Jasper.

Editors Meeting Planned at Marengo Cave

Editors from the Pocket Publishers' League representing Harrison Crawford Perry Dubois Spencer Pike Gibson and Warrick will gather in Marengo on Saturday May 9. They will be accompanied by their wives or sweethearts and a good time is promised. The regular business meeting will be held inside the cave.
