Reds triumph over Lincoln City in close baseball tilt

About 200 fans witnessed the Reds edge Lincoln City 7 to 6 at Olinger's ball park last Sunday. The Reds broke a tie in the eighth inning and held on as Lincoln added a ninth inning run. Ed Snyder stood out in right field with two fine hits while Olinger and Wahl pitched well for their teams in a hard hitting game.

Low Round Trip Rates on Southern Railway This Summer

Electric Line Subsidy Election In Hammond Township

Citizens of St Meinrad and Ferdinand welcome the subsidy election set for July 16 to fund a Rockport to Newtonville electric line. The route would pass Rockport Grandview Liberal Fulda St Meinrad Ferdinand and continue north toward Huntingburg and Jasper with a possible link to the Indianapolis and Evansville traction line. A railroad connection is hoped to benefit the towns with no current outlet.
