John Graman of St. Meinrad visited Monday. Mrs. Rickelmann and Mrs. Fisher went Evansville, returning Monday. John Dean of Siberia was in town Tuesday. Leopold Becher, Ed Becher, and Theodore Fischer of St. Meinrad transacted business last Thursday. Gerhard Gehrhausen near Uniontown delivered clover seed to Huntingburg on Tuesday. Martin Dilger of Passyville visited home folks early in the week. Joe Kotheimer of Louisville visits relatives this week. John Beckmann left for Texas Thursday. Jacob Kunkler of St. Louis was in town Wednesday. Gustav Worter went to Louisville last Saturday, back Monday. Miss Katie Wagner returned from Louisville for her brother Leo’s wedding to Minnie Mehling. She was accompanied by Miss Helene Marwa.
Church notices list services and assigned names for the week January 24 to Sunday. The group reports 190 new subscribers in 1904 and aims for 190 new readers yearly, with local and regional distributions to Louisville Meinrad Cincinnati Mariah Hill Evansville Schnellville and other areas.
Joseph M Sturm a longtime St Meinrad Indiana figure dies aged 79 after a life spanning Germany and the United States. Born November 26 1829 in Pfaffenhofen Bavaria he sailed to America with his parents in 1838 and built a career as wagon maker teacher postmaster and county official before entering private life. He left ten surviving children and a widow.
Dubois county Indiana notices an undersigned trustee conducting business at his office and home on the first Saturdays of each month. People are urged to attend township meetings and transact business during these sessions.
State Charities reports on its agency directing care for orphans and dependent children. In twelve months to Sept 30, 1908 agents visited 1,382 children with 66 percent doing well and 13 percent in need of action. The program placed 220 children that year and kept 77 percent off public support. Total field cost reached 6106.23 dollars.

The Ferdi nand Railway progress advances past Hackmanns farm cattle pass. First rails laid in Ferdinand township at seven o clock Wednesday morning. If weather cooperates, rails will reach Ferdinand Saturday evening.

John Schlachter longtime resident of the town died suddenly at his home Wednesday night at 9 30 from heart paralysis. He was 64 years old and left a wife nine children five daughters and four sons. Interment is at St Ferdinand cemetery this morning. The community offers sympathy to the family.
