Capable Men Selected to Lead Indiana World War History Work
The Indiana Historical Commission appoints Dr. John W. Quiver as state director to organize and collect material for a memorial history of Indiana's World War involvement. Three Men Burned by Powder Mistake at Coal Mine
At a coal mine near town last Saturday evening Andy Nord Philip Durchholz and Math Durchholz were badly burned after confusing a bucket of powder with coffee. A stove flame ignited the powder scorching faces and hands while two powder cans on the opposite side did not ignite. All three are recovering and expected to be out again in a few days.
