Little Annie Meyer Dies at Evansville Institution
Anna Meyer known as Little Annie died at the Little Sisters of the Poor home in Evansville after a brief illness. Born in Blence she came to America with her parents at age three, lived on a farm between here and St. Meinrad, and reached 88 years. A diminutive figure not quite four feet tall she and her sister long resided in the northern town area before her move to Evansville. May she rest in peace.

Transport Carrying Troops Aground
The American transport Northern Pacific left Brest with 2,400 wounded and healthy sailors soldiers and nurses. It went aground at Fire Island on Wednesday at 3 50 am. Injured were landed and sailors and nurses to a rescue fleet. The captain later said by wireless that everybody on board safe.

Aged Lady of Mariah Hill Called Home
Mrs Mathing Heidelbech of Mariah Hill died Friday December 20 after a paralytic stroke. She was 76 years and 10 months old and left a husband four daughters two sons and many grandchildren. Funeral was Monday at eight with Rev A Bauer at Mariah Hill Cemetery. Sympathy is extended to the bereaved.
