Death of Alexander Horney in Ferdinand

The community mourns the death of Alexander Horney aged 69 during a Louisville visit. Born in Elsass Germany, he came to America at age five and settled near Ferdinand, leaving ten children including John of Ferdinand and Louisville relatives. He was interred at St. Ferdinand Cemetery after a Monday arrival. condolences from the Nuns are offered.

Monastery to Install Large Organ at St Meinrad

The St Meinrad monastery will house the largest organ in the region. Transport required four cars and fifty six wagon loads to move it to the Dale Station site. The organ uses 12,000 feet of timber, 32,000 feet of lumber, 9,000 pipes, 16.8 taqq08 copper wire, 3,450 brass tubing, 7,000 pounds of metal, 104 tin blocks, 1,083 lead, and 4,405 gin with 3,015 pipes in total. The project cost about 18 thousand dollars.

Miss Edith Pitta entertained about thirty five friends in Saltillo Texas Thursday night January second 1908 for her eighteenth birthday anniversary. The event featured music and singing and guests departed late. they extended wishes for many more happy returns of the day.
