Mariah Hill notes Henry Hohmann of Kelso Missouri visited relatives here late last week. Owensboro guests this week include local relatives. Mrs Henry Bredhold spends a few days with her sister and family in Owensboro. Mrs Peter Schneider and daughter of Terre Haute attended the funeral of her mother Mrs Peter Lehnen here last Friday. Gust and Victor Holtzgmann and Albert Wirthwein of Fulda spent a few hours in town Saturday. Andrew Schum and Frank Gogel were in Ferdinand on business Monday.

Fred Lochrlein and Theodore Otto of St Meinrad visited Simon Lichrlein’s family Sunday. Meinrad and Leo Birechler attended the wedding of Louis Kaelin and Anna Hollinde in Owensboro this Tuesday. Frank Jacob and Albert Thoma moved their saw mill to Frank Guoota’s farm, where substantial timber is available. Mrs Katherine Goetz’s 180 acre farm will be sold at public auction on Saturday February 28, located one mile northeast of town and includes 20 acres of timber.

Miss Maggie Goodman confined to bed and wished a speedy recovery. Thessing Kemp wedding dance attended by local youths in Dubois. Emma Scheppers two years old ill with dropsy.

Notice to Ferdinand residents that a male 21 plus years old, resident 90 days, will apply to Dubois County Commissioners at the March 1914 term for leave to sell spirituous vinous and malt liquors in quantities under a quart for one year at a room 24 by 25 feet on the ground floor of a two story frame building on lot 235 at Ohio Street. The license includes selling luncheon and confection and is subject to state liquor laws.

A long time Par dinand resident applies to Dubois County Indiana commissioners for a one year license to sell alcoholic beverages in his name. The premises occupy a 26 by 24 room on the ground floor of a two story brick building at the southeast corner of lot 18 on Ohio Street. The notice cites the act regulating spirituous vinous malt and other intoxicating liquors.
