Kansas state meteorologist S D Flora curates what is claimed as the largest Weather Bureau tornado cyclone and dust storm photo collection outside Washington. It includes about 300 photographs mainly of Kansas storms such as the Omaha 1918 storm the Ehnot 1917 tornado the Great Bend 1915 cyclone the Coffeyville 1917 cyclone and Garfield park tornado of 1917. Some images depict 1200 dead sheep a blown house with all else intact and a church destroyed except its steeple.

Statewide report shows 1917 totals for auto licenses at 192 195 and 1918 at 227 160 with 15 411 sets issued in last 20 days of 1917 and 17 990 in last 18 days of 1918. Notary fees totaled 200 in 1917 and 444 25 in 1918, with license sales bringing in about 1 300 000.
