Obituary of Clemens Lueken and wife in Ferdinand
Two Ferdinand residents Clemens Lueken and his wife died within two days of pneumonia. Both born in Germany and arriving in 1869, he ran wooden shoe trade and served as constable. They celebrated golden anniversary five months ago and left nine children and nineteen grandchildren. Burial at St. Ferdinand cemetery completed.

County Dad's Meeting Settles Petitions and Licenses

Centennial Work Commenced in Dubois County
The Dubois County Centennial Committee opened its first meeting in Jasper on Saturday February 3 with representation from all townships. Ferdinand township was urged to take part through Albert Sondermann while J P Huther chaired. The board will assign township roles and a countywide meeting will select a township chairman. The central board must be notified of the chairman by February 21 for a September celebration headlined by a nationally famed speaker. Ferdinand township aims to repeat its Huntingburg achievements and bolster the county celebration.
