Bond issue for Kerstein road rejected by State Board

The State Board of Tax Commissioners at Indianapolis declined to approve a 30000 bond for the Kerstein road in Ferdinand Township, citing greater need to complete the Old St. Henry road and a financial strain on Cass Township taxpayers. The decision followed a hearing in Ferdinand with representation from J H Beckman and Wm Cox, and notes that petitioners for the Kerstein road faced a higher priority for the Old St. Henry project. A January petition for the St. Henry road is anticipated, with local donations and labor planned to reduce grading costs.
