Warren P. Dixon of Hebron community three miles south of Jonesboro died Friday afternoon at 2 o clock after weeks of typhoid fever. The funeral was held Sunday at Noah Ark church with Rev. J A Quillian officiating and interment in the churchyard cemetery. Hundreds of sorrowing friends attended as Dixon was praised as a brave and respected citizen.
Judge L. S. Roan presides in the September term of the Superior Court with the Stone Mountain circuit. He charges the grand jury on statutes and responsibility, urging thorough effort. Col. W. E. H. Searcy handles stenography. Solicitor J. W. Wise pushes for convictions. Sheriff F. B. Brown and Clerk J. W. Graham supervise operations as the grand jury, led by Charles Mitcham, Miles Brown, and B. H. Landrum, begins work with 21 jail cases likely to be disposed of tomorrow.
