A roundup of civilian and military personalities visiting or at home in Georgia towns. Includes furloughs from Camp Gordon, visits by Mrs Ssell and Mrs Williams, travel to Phoenix City for winter, and local ne ws on obituaries, church union plans, War Savings Stamps drive, and rules on paid death notices.
The message thanks neighbors and Dr. Jones for support during illness and death of C. C. Chandler. War conditions push postponement of the county fair except club activities with seed corn and farm item contests. Prizes offered in Gorn Pig Peanut Peas Calf Gaming and Poultry clubs with two days in early November and a call to share good entries. W N Dixon County Agent and Lela M Dickson Home Dem Agent urge participation.
The county voted quietly with many noting the prohibition law. Congressman J. W. Wise carried almost all districts in the sixth, leading Mr. Persons by about 3000 votes. Representatives Culpepper 63, Chambers 402. county commissioners Lew is 520, Mask 597, Stenchcomb 427, Huison 483. J. D. Price won the railroad commissioner race.

New Red Cross members listed as W. J. Williams J. J. Cox Mrs. Esther Spratlin and Mattie Head. Schedules show Surgical Dressing Room work across Aug 27 to Sept 4 with multiple volunteers and counts of pads made, ranging from 2% to 35 pads.
Jackson of Atlanta visited relatives in Kenwood after spending Sunday with home folks. Mrs. Alonzo Permoit toured near The Fork this week while Miss Mattie Lou McHachern stayed in Atlanta recently. Families in College Park and Zetella sent visitors to Kenwood as Mr. Joe Austin and family plan Birmingham as their new home.
The Rock Church honors Kate Stephens born October 1861 who died April 20 1918 after days of great suffering. The church resolves to comfort her bereaved husband three sons four daughters and one brother and sends copies to the family church record and Fayetteville News.
J. Milton Revs and J. Speer led a meeting at Little Flock last week with notable interest and progress. Henry Nations and Samuel Martin assisted at Senoia to organize a Redwine Brothers bank led by H. P. Redwine.
The lodge honors the death of Dr J A S Chambers wife and mother born Feb 18 1873 married Jun 12 1894 died May 19 1918. Funeral at Liberty Chapel and burial there with condolences to her husband seven children and many relatives.
