Sanita Pastor Methodist Rev A B urges third Sundays 11 am in TAB paper ay School. Song denice 45 am opening exercises 10 o clock sharp. Baptist Church Rev L P Glass preaches second fourth Sundays 11 am and 7 20 pm service. Sunbeam Society meets 3 pm Sunday. Womans Missionary led by Mrs L P Glass Tuesday after service days.
A local notice lists numerous residents visiting relatives in College Park and nearby towns. It warns that all persons aged 21 to 31 must register on June 5, applies to white and colored alike, and hints penalties for noncompliance. The item also notes social visits by many residents and a general call for community events.
Fayetteville High School teachers left town after the school week ends. Several Atlanta area homes burned, including C A Smith and Duncan families formerly from this county. Old McHachern house near here burned last week, owned by J J Adams and occupied by Fred B Davis and Misses Laurian Lester Jewell Burks Agness Kitchens. Jewel Burks earned a diploma at GN I College Milledgeville. State Singing Convention, led by Prof R Mullins of Carrolton, praised for order, attendance, and music quality. attendees returned home uplifted by the experience.
Card of thanks extends gratitude to friends and neighbors for kindness during long illness and death of dear husbands. Special thanks to doctors and Dr. McManus for untiring care day and night. May God bless each one. From Mrs. A. A Coccin and children.
Funeral services for 80 year old W A Warwick of 256 Grant Street are planned for 4 pm Friday at Poole's chapel. The body will be sent to Fayetteville Georgia at 7 20 am Saturday. He is survived by his wife four sons Loy Adrian Barron and Olin Warwick and two daughters Mrs W C Highfill and Miss Daisy Warwick.
A Commoner editorial urges every person to contribute by raising something. It argues that even small efforts add up, comparing to a million bushels of potatoes if each person raised a hill, and noting how every housewife could boost meat by raising a chicken. Despise not the day of small things.
The Baptist Sunday Schools of Georgia exceed 1800 in number and will hold a special day on the first Sunday in June. A special offering for the Georgia Baptist Hospital charity work will be collected, with superintendents and teachers nationwide urging their schools to raise the largest amount ever.
Fayetteville High School lists the May honor roll with 62 names across grades one through eleven including Ruby Driver Hazel Duffee Carolyn Gay Frank Harris and many others. The May attendance record highlights Miss Head and Miss Chatfield rooms with top percentages and notes the upcoming Annual Blue List publication.
Frances L Shell Westbrook died March 29 1917 at her daughter's home Mrs W T McLean Funeral services were in Woolsey cemetery beside her husband, conducted by Rev A B Sanders. Born December 1834 she married Moses M Westbrook July 1 1854 and had ten children most preceded her. She was a lifelong Methodist and sought to do the Masters will announcing readiness to meet her Savior.
