Life of Henry W Simpson A Clayton County Pioneer
Henry W Simpson born May 16 1822 in Fryette county Georgia first child born after county organization. He lived in Clayton his whole life, strong outdoorsman, devout, joined Primitive Baptists but did not unite with regular Baptists. He married Kezzie Wallis in 1849 and fathered nine children. He served in the 44th Georgia Regiment during the Civil War, fought in Virginia, and was known for loyalty, kindness, and piety. He died with burial near Wallis cemetery in Clayton County.
