George Daniel Carter Dies After Illness Near Tyrone
George Daniel Carter, a longtime county resident and Confederate Army veteran from the 27 Georgian regiment, died last Wednesday evening after months of illness near Tyrone. He helped found the Hopewell reunion, belonged to Mt Moriah Lodge and Piayetteville Royal Arch Chapter, and was a Hopewell Church member. He leaves a son T. A. Carter of Carrollton and five daughters, with Masons conducting his burial at Hopewell.
