George W Jones of Missouri to Kentucky born May 26 1879 in Madison County Kentucky died March 1 1919 in Atlanta Georgia aged 39 years 9 months and 5 days. He married Harriet Butler October 16 1901 and left four children Lenora George Bond Harriet Louise Martha Elizabeth along with a wife mother and siblings. Funeral services were led by Rev C D Hedges Wheeling Christian Church and he was buried in Wheeling Cemetery.

Will Harris, a Black man, shot Will Lunsford White in the face with a shotgun on Thursday afternoon, sending him to a Atlanta hospital in serious condition with possible loss of sight. The incident follows a prior assault on a Black man a week earlier.
New Hope reports good Sunday School with room for improvement and a healthier community view. Attendees from here joined Bethany singing Sunday afternoon and praised the event. Miss Lillie Francis Turner visited Miss Gena McEachern, while Curtis Bardette and Lawrence Bray spoke of local happenings. Charlie Phillips is building a new house and plans to move soon. A Sunday singing is planned with invitation to all residents.
In Chambers the court orders the regular March 1919 term called off and adjourned without a day. The order is to be entered on the Minutes posted at the courthouse door and published in the Fayetteville News with notice to bar members and non resident counsel. Signed March 8, 1919 by WM. E. H.
