Woodmen Camp Organized with 44 Charter Members
Woodmen of the World Camp No. 487 organized in Fayetteville last week with 44 charter members. Officers elected include Tester C. Dickson as Consul, L. Lewis as Vice-Consul, W. H. Tidwell as Baker, E. P. Mize as Secretary, R. E. Burks as Escort, G. H. Eastin as Watchman, C. Westmoreland as Sentry, J. H. Stephens and J. A. Burch as Board of Managers, A. O. Blalock as Past Consul, Dr. J. T. Edwards as Camp Physician, and G. H. Guy as Chaplain. State Deputy Newton Phillips installed officers. The camp was named for Dr. Edwards. The second meeting on March 8 added many candidates and an oyster banquet at Dr. Edwards’s home. The Uniform Rank department will be discussed next meeting. Henry Simpson, longtime county resident, died Wednesday night and was buried Thursday at the family graveyard in Clayton County. The News extends sympathy.
