The Criffin District gathers in Hampton next week for the Home Affairs conference. Local residents, including Miss Letha Kitchens and Miss James Mae McElwaney, visit relatives and attend events while others host guests, attend Red Cross activities, and share news from Griffin to Bennett's Mill.
The Pawl J Sammes Camp No 382 U C V holds its regular quarterly meeting at the Court House Fayetteville at 10 am on July 2 1918 Commander TN Farr Adjutant T M Murphy Judge Searcy presided and ordered the Court to validate 2510000 bonds by Fayette County Drainage District No 1 to drain Camp Creek The bonds have reportedly sold to a Chicago firm at par.
For sale nearly new Summers Barnesville buggy with rubber tires and a practically new one horse Stude baker wagon. Local figures including Hon R B Blackburn Col C B Shelton and Hon J C Waters from Atlanta urged the community to buy War Savings Stamps. Mr B G Hightower and wife return from Florida due to Mrs Hightower’s health.
Revival meetings begin the third Sunday in July and continue two weeks. Members are urged to invite others and pray for great things. Rev. R. A. Edmondson of St Paul Church Atlanta will lead preaching. Mr J J Davis will lead music. Cottage prayer meetings led by Brother Guy Mize Harley Dixon Banks. Elder Wreath Prather of La Grange will preach at Rhamer Primitive Baptist Church near Fayetteville on the 5th Sunday in June and the preceding Saturday at 11 o'clock each day. He is praised for delivering strong messages to his congregation.

Mr Banks joined the navy and did not go with the others.
Mr J M Murphy of Los Angeles with G M Murphy and wife from Atlanta visited East Side last Sunday. J H Murphy stayed with his brother T M Murphy for most of the week. Mrs G M Dorman and son W P Dorman visited Mr G R Dorman at Covington. Delia Guy of Atlanta visited at the bedside of her father J C Guy for three weeks and improving. Mrs R L Davis of Williamson spent Sunday and Monday with relatives. Misses Lizzie Simpson and Wilde Ellis of Atlanta visited the Misses Miller. Lois Miller attended Line Creek church singing. Mrs Sallie R Gibson of Carrollton is visiting her brother T M Murphy. Jessie and Gray Miller and Lizzie Simpson with Thomas and Lewis went to McDonough Sunday. Lois Miller, Mrs Gibson, J H Murphy and Tom and wife motored to Mr G W Bottoms’ home Wednesday and spent the day. The Misses Miller attended the funeral of their niece beyond McDonough last Thursday.
