Fayetteville Methodist and Baptist churches announce Sunday preaching at 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. with Sunday School at 9:45 a.m., inviting all townsfolk to join. Community events include Sunbeam Society, Women’s Missionary announcements, and a weekly homecoming prayer session. local visits and society notes fill the community page.
The annual election for school trustees will be held countywide on Saturday July 28. Polls open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at school or court houses in districts. E E Thornton of Aberdeen met with Equalizers and County Commissioners to locate taxable property not returned this year and to offer defaulters a chance to make returns at once. Thornton will be in Aberdeen until the 24th to assist. after that, nonreturns will be listed as defaulters. Spratling urges everyone to comply with the law.

The State Tax Commissioners declined the 1917 tax digest citing a $64,000 decrease. Fayette County taxpayers must file returns promptly to avoid double taxation. J W Spratling, Tax Receiver, Aberdeen Georgia, will be in Fayetteville on Tuesday July 24 to collect and accept returns.
