Notice from W. N. D. Dixon inviting all Fayette County teachers to an institute on Saturday January 20 and announcing monthly institutes this year. He cautions about late payments and notes Prof Brittain will obtain warrants for the remaining 1911 money on the 20th and issue them promptly.
Mrs. Edwin Sherrett thanks friends who attended and aided in her husband Mr. Sherrett's funeral at Fayetteville last Saturday. Special gratitude to the young people who rendered the music. The kindness of friends will be remembered with grateful remembrance by Mrs. Sherrett.
Fresh Florida Oranges at B. H. Landrum and Seacraves Perry advertise goods. J S Warp notes Master Irving Fife’s return to the Technological Institute in Atlanta. Fayetteville notices include insurance offerings, school book and supply sales, tomato listings, dairy cattle sales, and a death of Martin Norton with funeral details.

The death of Jasper W Davis occurred at his home near Flat Creek yesterday. He was about seventy and served in the Civil War. A lifelong resident, he leaves a wife four daughters two sons and several grandchildren. Burial services were held today at Ebenezer. The News extends sympathy to the family.
Arrangements are being made for a farm demonstration meeting in Fayetteville on Tuesday January 30. The event is conducted by University Extension work and aims to benefit county farmers with practical lectures on farming and fertilizer use. A later extension school will run March 4 through 7 at the State Agricultural College. The meetings are free to farmers and readers are urged to watch The News for the program.
Moses Ginmore Garland announces relocation of his barber shop from the court house square area after 14 years at the old drug store site. He thanks former landlords Mr. S. A. Burks and the Redwine brothers for smooth dealings and invites customers to visit the new location with a large airy room and good work.
The Little Flock notes bad weather postponed last Sunday's election of S. 8. officers to next Sunday afternoon. The issue of past-due subscriptions is raised as the paper asks readers to send a dollar or money order. Local visits include Mr. and Mrs. A. J. McBride and others. Miss Eddie Waters begins teaching Tuesday with low turnout anticipated.
Snow ice rain and slush have kept people quiet since Saturday night. J H Kelly nears completion of a telephone line from home to his store and will link with Fayetteville at Mr McLendon’s easing local communication. I E Halsten visits Cincinnati employers from last year and will return soon. Laura and Jessie Thornton from Fayetteville visit Ruby Drewry this week. A Steinheimer’s condition remains largely unchanged. Mrs M H Johnson Mrs J H Jones and Myr Lusk show some improvement.
The Culpepper residence hosted a Wednesday evening gathering for Louise and Mae Culpepper with music by Loraine Graham Ruth Noyes and others. A book contest prize went to Mary Lou Graham and Miss Marie Beadles hosted a New Year Eve dinner for eight with a later return by escorts. Several Christmas week parties followed featuring festive décor, musical numbers, and allied guests.

A bench warmer dispute arose over demotion of Primus by a judge and the demonstrator.
