Brown Wins Governor Race With Narrow County Margin
The state election passed quietly with Joe Brown winning the governorship and a county majority of about 50 votes. Hon. Pope Brown and Dick Russell trailed, while CH. M. Stanley was elected Commissioner of Commerce and Labor. Voter turnout was about one third of registered voters.
