The state election passed quietly with Joe Brown winning the governorship and a county majority of about 50 votes. Hon. Pope Brown and Dick Russell trailed, while CH. M. Stanley was elected Commissioner of Commerce and Labor. Voter turnout was about one third of registered voters.
Aberdeen welcomes C H Martin who opened a line of dry goods and nations. Judge Will Brown completed a new home and will move in soon. V H Allen of Senoia visited Friday. Mrs L M Hall spent a day in Sonola. A Fielding made a business trip to Atlanta. Mr and Mrs G H Pope of Atlanta visited F M Chandler and wife. L M Hall and son Marion visited Bowman with his parents.
A local churchwoman urges parents to send children to Sunday school and model good habits at home. She warns Thanksgiving could spiral into excess and whisky, urges cleanliness, table manners, respect for elders, and polite behavior. She cautions against parental squabbles before children and ends with a motivational motto about happiness.
