Shake Up at the Courthouse During a Sale
During legal hours of sale a large crowd gathered at the courthouse north entrance when a sudden thunderstorm drove many indoors. An electrical discharge damaged the ordinarys office telephone lines and shocked several people, with Hon. A. O. Blalock sustaining a neck and body burn but soon resuming his rounds. At the depot, lightning caused loud reports and panic among teams. The storm was brief with rain and light wind.
