Ardmore Statesman reports Hewitt residents outraged by Commissioner George Henshaw refusal to order Rinwling road to station at Lie town or townsite west of Hewitt. He says new towns aid railroad builders, prompting Hewitt to vow legal appeal and stay in old town to haul freight one mile.
John A. Pain, ex county attorney, is slated for the United States attorney post for the western district of Oklahoma to replace Homer N. Boardman who has been removed. He was endorsed by Gore and Owen and is described as a stern figure. During four years as county attorney he reportedly jailed 2,500 people for law violations.
Tulsa hosts the International Dry Farming Congress on October 22, with the event dated 81. The State Poultry Show is set for Enid on January 26, in a notation indicating late January 8.

E K Wolcott stopped the runaway horse, wheels rolled over Mrs Stone briefly, but all escaped injuries. Lipsett to town wagoned the party back. all were said to be well Monday.

T P Meadow a teamster in Lawton died suddenly about 7 pm Thursday after heavy drinking from a jug. County Attorney Orr and Sheriff Nix investigated and conveyed the remaining liquor to the courthouse for analysis.
Singing class sessions continued with about half the members absent due to circus engagements in Lawton. Those present showed interest and a fair start was made for the first lesson. The program will adapt after the initial week to help slower learners progress.
